Super HAC Mortar (555)

Super HAC Mortar is a premixed cementitious single component repair and surface lining waterproof barrier mortar. Super HAC Mortar is a special formulation providing structural integrity and protecting concrete, masonary and brick substrates against biogenic corrosion in strong hydrogen sulphide gas (H2S) environments.

Categories: ,

TYPICAL APPLICATION

Horizontal and vertical applications to concrete, masonary and brick by trowelling or low pressure spraying. Especially suited for the rehabilitation of:

  • Sewer manholes
  • Sewage treatment tanks
  • Sewer lift stations
  • Large diameter trunk lines

ADVANTAGES

  • High corrosion resistant against hydrogen sulphide gas environments
  • resists strong hydrostatic pressure
  • resists abrasion and mechanical wear
  • easy to use – just mix with water
  • can be applied by trowel or low pressure pump
  • non flammable, no fumes, no odour & environmentally friendly

PREPARATION OF SUBSTRATE

The substrate has to be firm, free from voids and large cracks. Grease, oil, cement laitance, loose particles etc must be removed by means of high pressure water blasting or other suitable mechanical means.

MIXING & APPLICATION

Add 1 bag (25kg) of Super HAC Mortar to approx. 3.5 – 4L of water. Mix thoroughly with an electric mixer for 3 – 5 minutes to a thick batter for troweled applications, and a pumpable consistency for spray applications.

Apply to concrete, masonary and brick manually with a steel trowel or by spraying using a low pressure spray gun. If the substrate is too dry, it has to be prewetted and slightly damp at the time of application.

Coverage : One 25kg bag covers approx. 17 ft² (1.6 m²) at 1/2″ (12mm) thickness.
Minimum Thickness : 10mm (3/8″)

CURING

Provide protection against extreme weather conditions during the setting period. Where rapid evaporation is anticipated, the application of a curing compound is recommended.
